Fruit Filled Vanilla Protein Shake Recipe
Posted on November 5th, 2008
Vanilla protein shake with frozen fruit. Used as a meal replacement. Tastes great and works well as a breakfast alternative. I drink this Monday to Friday for breakfast as I am not a morning person. This is quick and filling.
Since this is used for a meal replacement drink, it calls for a protein powder and flax seed. But if you just want something delicious, you can skip the protein powder and flax seed, and use 1 scoop vanilla ice cream. You can also switch frozen fruit for fresh if you have some on hand.
If using the protein powder, I recommend going with frozen fruit, and it will act like the ice cream and make it cold and thick.
- 1 scoop Progressive Harmonized Protein powder (or ice cream)
- 3/4 cup skim milk
- small handful frozen fruit
- 1 teaspoon of ground flax seed
Put all ingredients into a blender, or a Magic Bullet (my favorite) and blend until smooth. Drink and enjoy!
The flax seed is to help it as a meal replacement as opposed to just a protein shake. Good source of Omega 3 fatty acids. You can use any protein shake you use, in any flavour. I just happen to like Vanilla, and the fruit gives it a flavour boost.
